February 2010-Present: Freelance Writer, Connection Magazine Write feature stories and take photographs for a monthly magazine that covers southwest Missouri. Propose story ideas to the editor, arrange interviews and meet monthly deadlines.

November 2010-Present: Editor/Writer, GoGardenGoOnline.com Edit and write articles and blog entries for an online gardening website and monthly newsletter. Pitch ideas, check accuracy of articles written by other writers and assist with selection of commercial images.

April 2010-Present: Web Content Writer, Demand Studios Select, research and write content for a variety of online articles for eHow.com and LiveStrong.com, with a focus on search engine optimization. Select photos and write photo captions.

November 2001-Present: Owner & Operator, Florey Equine Performance Owner and operator of a business that offers equine sports massage therapy. Traveled to major equine events throughout the United States to work on show horses, but now focus mainly on farm calls. Clients have included at the state, regional and world championship equines.

February 2000-July 2001: Writer, Zentropy Partners Created concepts and wrote web site content for major clients such as Toro and U.S. Navy.

March 1996-Feburary 2000: Proofreader & Copywriter, Carlson Marketing Group Began as a proofreader for the Hallmark and Northwest Airlines loyalty accounts; promoted to copywriter in 1998 and wrote marketing materials the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks program.

October 1995-March 1996: Freelance Proofreader, NordicTrack Inc. Proofread marketing materials and advertisements for a national fitness equipment company.

September 1995-March 1996: Writer, West Group Researched and wrote legal definition articles for the 1996 edition of West’s Encyclopedia of American Law.

June-August 1995: Editorial Intern, St. Cloud Times Interned at the St. Cloud Times in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Proofread articles, used QuarkXPress to lay out pages in the LifeStyle section of the newspaper, wrote headlines and photo captions.

September 1992-June 1995: Reporter & Copy Desk Chief, Mankato State Reporter Staff reporter on general news beat & sports beats throughout tenure. Wrote editorials, proofread stories, wrote headlines & photo captions and assisted with layout of twice-weekly student-produced newspaper. Promoted to Copy Desk Chief for the 1994-1995 school year.
